About

Rona Moriah is a librettist, lyricist, playwright, and screenwriter. Her work has been presented at Berklee NYC, The Green Room 42, The Cutting Room, 54 Below, and the Lynn F. Angelson Theater at Classic Stage Company.

Rona has written theater and films about characters of all ages, from a musical about elementary schoolers to an elderly woman and her creative scammers. Rona loves stories that portray growth and struggle as part of a collective experience. We are more connected than at any moment in history (for better or for worse), and her stories take place within a shifting dynamic that is unprecedented in our history.

Her stories celebrate the awkward dances of togetherness, the tender, tangled moments when we’re called to show up for each other, and the quiet power of walking away.

Rona is dedicated to writing stories without clear answers, believing that theater should inspire conversations between audience members to evaluate how they feel about a situation or character using their life experiences and perspectives.

Rona made her off-Broadway debut with SheNYC's Summer Theater Festival, with both performances sold out. She was a finalist for Write Out Loud Volume Six and a finalist for Parlando School of Music's New Musical Project. She holds a Bachelor's degree in English literature from Boston University/Kilachand Honors College and a Master of Arts in Writing and Design for Musical Theater from Berklee NYC despite not playing an instrument. Now she plays bouzouki.
